Changes of Serum Lipids in Streptozotocin Induced Diabetic Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
A study was performed to examine the serum lipids from induced diabetic rats (male Sprague Dawley) 2, 4, 6 weeks after an intravenous injection of streptozotocin (55 mg/kg).
The results were as follows;
Serum total cholesterol concentration of "STZ induced diabetic rats were significantly to elevated. Serum triglycerides, free fatty acids were significantly to elevated in rats, 2 weeks, 4 weeks after they were made diabetic with STZ.
Serum phospholipids are not altered after STZ injection. In the present study report quantitative differences in serum lipids.
